Olay Fresh Effects

For the past couple of weeks, I have been testing out the Olay Fresh Effects Va-Va-Vivid Cleansing System that I received from Influenster. So far, this is the best cleansing system I have tried to date! 95% of the time when I'm washing my face I have a full face of makeup that I'm having to take off. I was skeptical at first because of the brush and makeup staining it. The makeup washed right off the brush and I had a clean face, too. I have noticed improvement in my oil control in my T-zone. I live in South Texas, so our weather can be kinda crazy including the horrible humidity. 

The Olay Fresh Effects line ranges from $4.99-$12.99 on Olay Fresh Effects Website or Amazon. This product is also found at Target for $12.99 as I purchased additional items from the line today (see below). 

Here's me testing out the cleansing system. I had a full face of make-up on, too and was very impressed at how it cleaned my skin, removing all the makeup (except my eyes - do not use this system near your eyes, it might burn). I rinsed off with cool water and patted my face with a dry, clean towel. I also love how this brush is unique and can fit into hard-to-reach places, unlike other cleansing systems. The system left me feeling refreshed and clean. There have been some products that have left my skin feeling dry or tight feeling. I can honestly say that this did not leave my face feeling that way. I did use a little moisturizer and eye cream before bed, just like my usual routine.

I will be doing a follow up review on the Olay Fresh Effects products purchased today at Target. I just fell in love with the Olay Fresh Effects Va-Va-Vivid Cleansing system that I had to purchase other products from the line. 

The Taste: Tuesday at 8|7c on ABC

This show is AMAZING! If you haven't heard about, The Taste, it's a cooking competition where contestants are competing for $100,000 grand prize based on "The Taste" of their dishes. Each week contestants are mentored by one of four chefs they are teamed with. Each week is a different challenge and they have to submitted one spoonful of their dish to the judges, who then in turn blind taste each dish. When I say blind test, I mean, they don't know who's dish they are tasting. In Tonight's episode, "The Art of the Sandwich", the contestants had to create the perfect sandwich. While the sandwiches looked yummy, "the taste" is of course the key in all challenges. They had 12 contestants and two had to leave the competition tonight. The contestants to leave from tonight's challenge were Huda and Mia. Why did they leave? Huda left for raw-chicken that one of the judges had and too much pesto in her dish. Mia might have gone above and beyond with her homemade bread but that bread was too burnt for the judges liking. Stay tuned for next weeks episode on ABC at 8/7c.

Palmolive Fresh Infusions

 

 

Palmolive recently came out with Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish soap in yummy scents: Lime Basil, Lemon Thyme, & Ginger White Tea. I was chosen by Influenster to test these products complimentary and given a series of tasks to complete.

 

Here's a couple of questions asked:

Your favorite scent and why?: Ginger White Tea, I love the smell of White Tea, I own several White Tea hand soaps from Dial (You never know when you'll run out. Plus, I've been using coupons to stock up, too.)

Which scent you shared with a girlfriend - what did she think of it?: I shared the Lime Basil with my mom, since she ran out of dish soap. She used it the other night while washing dishes and the entire kitchen smelled. I related the scent to Skittles.

Where you can find Fresh Infusions™? - Walmart or Target!

When I first got the box in, I knew exactly what I was going to test them out on...MAKEUP BRUSHES! Yes, you read correctly. I washed my makeup brushes in the Ginger White Tea. I find that dish soap cleans brushes more effectively and it's cost efficient. Once the brushes dried, they were left with a light flowery scent and soft to the touch. I store them under my bathroom cabinet for later use. I cleaned 25+ makeup brushes and you can hardly tell I've used the bottle. Remember, when cleaning your makeup brushes that the soap/shampoo you'd use should be minimal. You don't want to have tons of bubbles and taking a lot of time getting the soap out from the bristles.

The second use for me...BATHE THE DOGS! Ok, so I have TWO 2 1/2 year old pups that are not the most excited about bath time unless it's a shower. Yes, my dogs will occasionally take a shower (I'm normally in the shower with them). So, one's petite and the other twice her size (he's a boy - go figure he's the bigger one). I had to bathe them separate this time because I had no help, they can get pretty crazy at the same time. I used the soap because it's been said that it helps kill fleas. I left it on them for about 5 minutes, rinsed, then shampooed with their regular dog soap. I will say it worked!

I plan on using my FIVE coupons at the nearest Walmart or Target to stock up before I run out or the coupons expiration date. I'd suggest testing these products out for yourself.

Influenster College VoxBox 2012: NYC Show Time Glitter Pencil

It's Christmas Time! It's Christmas Time! Ok, we actually have 5 days, 14 hrs, 15 min to be exact. Here's a simple holiday eye look I created with the NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Pencil in Showtime Black. I had a neutral smokey eye (that has faded from 8 hrs of graveyard shift work, hence the red eyes) and decided just to line my eye with a small wing. You could also pair this look with a red lip. I'd pair it with NYC's lipstick in Retro Red (recommended by YouTube Beauty Guru: emilynoel83). I might just create this look next week as a holiday look for Christmas or New Year's Eve. Influenster College VoxBox: Broadway Impress Nails

Good Morning! Who's ready for Santa Claus? ONLY 5 MORE DAYS!! I hope you ask Santa for a set of Broadway Impress Nails in your stocking because these are AMAZING (no, I'm not getting paid to say that either)! I was chosen by Influenster to test out their College VoxBox edition in early November. Last week, I took the time to test these babies out. I will first say that I was hesitant as I *HATE* press-on nails, never liked them at ALL! I always had problems with them staying on but let me tell you I was WRONG after testing these out.    It was love at first press-on (LOL). They fit perfect to each nail and were very easy to put on. I could bore you with the day-to-day details of what I did in the week I wore them but I'm not. I'll sum up that I did a lot of craft and business projects during the week. By Saturday, Day 7 they looked like a little chipped at the ends but nothing too dramatic. If I had given myself a mani, the paint would have chipped off within 2-3 days of application. I didn't see chipping until day 5. 

Reasons to purchase:

2. Minimal chipping

3. a HUGE range of colors

4. cheaper than a mani!

Influenster: College VoxBox 2012

 

Right before Thanksgiving, I received my first ever Influenster VoxBox. I received the College VoxBox 2012 that included Broadway Nails imPress nails in Space Cadet, Energy Sheets in Mint, Necco Wafer candy in Tropical, NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Pencil in Showtime Black, and Pentel Ener-Gel X pen. I was going to make a post the day I received the products but I wanted to really test out the products first. So, we're closing into a month since I've had the items and here's what I think.

College VoxBox 2012:

Broadway Nails imPress nails in Space Cadet: I absolutely LOVE these nails! They lasted a full week and I'm sure they could have lasted longer had I not caught snags while fixing jewelry. Towards the end of the week they did start to chip at the ends but I work working on a lot of projects. I will be posting a separate blog post for the nails. STAY TUNED!

Energy Sheets in Mint: I tried these at work mid-shift and the smell alone could wake someone up. The mint smell was overpowering, although it worked as a  2-n-1: energy strip and breath freshener.

Necco Wafer in Tropical: I used to eat these as a kid growing up, so being able to try new flavors was pretty amazing. The flavors were coconut, passion fruit, strawberry, lime, and mango. I wasn't very fond of the passion fruit flavor but the others were pretty good. I even shared with my mom. :)

NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Pencil in Showtime Black: The pencil was very smooth and I like the glittery effect. This would be great for the holidays, such as, New Year's! Let's get the party started!

Pentel Ener-Gel X pen: I used this the first two day I had the product and it has mysteriously disappeared since. I do have to say that I loved the smooth writing of the pen. I am very picky when it comes to the use of writing utensils.
