Mani Monday: Black & Gold Tutorial

It's Mani Monday (a very late one)! I'm going to show you a quick Chevron Tip Nail Tutorial that was featured in the mark.'s Magalog 11. I, however, did the tips a little different than the one in the brochure. 

Step 1: I primed my nails with the Nail Experts Gel Strength Base Coat by Avon (this stuff is AMAZING). Just apply one coat, it does dry fairly quickly, too.

Step 2: I then applied two separate coats of mark Nailed It Trend Mini Nail Lacquer in Gleam Scene (gold shade) to my nails. The gold tends to dry quicker so it can leave streaks if you try to take your time, so work quickly.

Step 3: Finally, I took mark. Nailed It Trend Mini Nail Lacquer in Tuxedo (black shade) at an angle, brushed from the outside to the middle, and did the same to the opposite site to where they met at a point.

The Haute Series: Rainbow Lids

Welcome to Week 2 of The "Haute" Series. On today's Makeup Monday we focus on: Rainbow Lids. This month is all about "daring" yourself to set out of your comfort zone. This look is perfect for those summer parties and beach days.

On the Dot Compact, No Place to Run Eyeliner in Jet Black, NYX  Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk,
All  Over Eyeshadow Brush, Eyeshadow Brush

1. Prime your eyelid with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.
2. Apply On the Dot teal shade (shade 8)  on the outer corners of the eye, purple shade (shade 9) mid-lid, followed by the yellow shade (shade 3) in the inner corner; you will need to blend one shadow into the next.
3. Run teal, purple, and yellow shades (same as the lid) along the lower lash lines (make sure the inner and outer corners blend together).

The "Haute" Series: Ombré Lips

This is the first look of a 4-week Makeup Monday tutorial series called, The "Haute" Series. After inspiration from a mark. e-mail, we start off with the "Ombré" lips. This is actually my first makeup tutorial and I forgot to include the step-by-step picture process but rest assure I'll have it for the next Makeup Monday. 

Here's a simple step-by-step to recreate this look:

1. Line lips with mark. Lipclick in Whiney ($11).

2. Fill in lips with mark. Lipclick in Coral Fixation ($11).

3. Blend the two shades together. Voila!

The "Haute" Series

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from mark. featuring the top Magalog 7 looks. I found inspiration for Makeup Monday tutorials. So, starting next Monday, I will be doing a 4-week series called "The Haute Series" featuring Magalog 7's hottest looks for Summer.  This will be my first tutorial series EVER! This blog is dedicated to my life, beauty & fashion. I had a previous blog dedicated to beauty & fashion but it got accidentally deleted with my old account. I figured a new start was best because my life in general is full of new starts (stay tuned to find out more). I'm a mark. representative/Mentor Assistant for the Houston, TX area & a Paparazzi Independent Star Consultant. I'm also a student at the University of Texas - Permian Basin in Odessa, TX studying Criminal Justice.
